Do kids smartwatches need a SIM card in the UAE?

Connected kids smartwatches with calling, messaging or live location do need a SIM and a data plan. Screen-free health bands do not.

Check carrier compatibility before buying in the UAE, because this is where imported watches fail. SaveFamily's own FAQ, for example, specifies a nano SIM and lists Spanish operators, not Etisalat or du. Apple Watch SE with Family Setup requires a wireless plan, available in the UAE through Etisalat.
