Halo Lytt does not need Etisalat, or any mobile carrier. It has no SIM slot and no cellular connection, so there is nothing to activate with a network operator, no line to add to your account, and no monthly plan to buy. Strictly the question does not apply, but it is worth explaining why parents ask it.
What actually needs a connection
The band pairs with the parent's phone over Bluetooth. Your phone's own internet connection, whether that is Etisalat, du, or the wifi at home, carries the data onward to the Halo app. So a connection is involved, but it is the one you already pay for on the phone in your pocket. The band itself never talks to a network.
That is the entire setup. No activation step, no coverage question, and nothing that stops working if you switch carrier.
Why other kids wearables do need Etisalat
Connected kids smartwatches are a different category, and for them the carrier question is real. Apple Watch SE with Family Setup lets a child use a watch without their own iPhone, but the calling, messaging and location features need a wireless service plan, and in the UAE that service is currently offered through Etisalat. Fitbit's Ace LTE needs its Ace Pass subscription at $9.99 per month or $120 per year for the same class of features.
The rule generalises well enough to carry into any comparison you do: if a kids wearable can reach your child, it has a monthly cost. If it cannot, it usually does not.
What that means for what you pay
Halo Lytt is AED 699 once. No carrier line, no subscription, no ongoing cost of any kind, because there is nothing to subscribe to. A connected watch is the device price plus a plan for as long as you keep using it, and on a two-year view the plan is frequently the larger half of the total.
That is not an argument against paying it. If you need contact or live location, pay it without hesitation. It is only waste when you are paying monthly for a capability your week does not actually contain, which is the common case for a child who is supervised or at school all day.
