Halo Lytt is designed for children aged 6 and up. There is no hard cut-off at the top: it fits through primary and into the early teens, for as long as a child is willing to wear a band.
Why 6 is the floor
Two things set that boundary. Fit and comfort become the binding constraint on a smaller wrist, and a band that does not sit properly does not measure reliably. And wellbeing metrics are simply less actionable for very young children, whose sleep and routine are already closely managed by an adult who does not need data to know how the night went.
If your child is 4 or 5
Worth being direct about this, because it is where most mismatched purchases happen. Parents of four and five year olds looking at wearables are usually seeking location or contact, not health data. That is a connected GPS watch, and Halo Lytt has neither capability. Buying it for that age with those expectations will disappoint you.
Where it fits best
The strongest fit is a child between about 6 and 12 who is supervised or at school through the day, in a household actively trying to reduce screen exposure rather than add another display. At that age sleep patterns start genuinely varying, school pressure begins showing up in rest, and a parent can act on what the data shows.
For older children the calculation shifts. A teenager may want a device of their own with a screen and messaging, and no screen-free band competes with that on the teenager's own terms. It remains a good fit where a parent and child agree the point is sleep rather than notifications.
Practical notes
The band weighs 22 grams and is waterproof to 50 metres, so it stays on through swimming, showers and sport. It runs 30 or more days per charge, which matters more at this age than any other spec: a device needing a nightly charge is a device a child forgets, and a forgotten band measures nothing. It is CE, FCC and RoHS certified.
