Amazfit Helio Strap Review: Is It Right for a Child's Sleep?

Halo Lytt in Piano Black from the front. The band has no screen.

The short answer

The Amazfit Helio Strap is a good screenless tracker for an adult. On a child it fits physically, since it is light and waterproof, but it was not designed for a parent who wants to see the data. We could not find any age guidance from Amazfit.

What the Helio Strap is

Amazfit released the Helio Strap in June 2025. It is a small sensor pod on a fabric band with no display. You wear it, it records, and you read the results in a phone app. TechRadar reviewed it as a budget alternative to the WHOOP band.

Sources, last checked September 2026: Helio Strap price, weight and battery from TechRadar's review and Gadgets and Wearables. The USD price converts at the pegged rate of 3.6725 AED and leaves out UAE duty, VAT and retailer margin, so treat it as a floor. Halo Lytt specifications come from the manufacturer.

What it does well

It is cheap for what it measures. It weighs about 20 grams, handles swimming and showers at 5 ATM, and its 10 day battery is respectable for a band this size. For an adult who wants sleep and recovery data without a screen or a monthly fee, the price is hard to beat.

Where it falls short for a child

The data goes to the wearer's account. Like most adult bands, the Helio Strap reports to whoever is wearing it. To see your child's night, you either give them a phone with a fitness app on it or run their account from yours. There is no parent view.

Amazfit does not publish a minimum age for it. That does not make it unsafe, but nobody has tuned it for a small wrist, and poor sensor contact on a loose band is a common reason adult trackers read badly on children.

Its recovery and stress scores are framed for training, which does little for a nine year old. What changes a household is when sleep starts, how often a child wakes and how consistent the nights are.

Ten days beats a daily charge, but it still means plugging the band in every week and a half, and that is the kind of chore that gets forgotten.

What it costs in the UAE

We could not find an official Amazfit UAE price. A UAE reseller lists the tracker at AED 531, well above the converted US price. Check the seller's delivery and warranty terms before ordering.

Who should buy it

Get the Helio Strap if the wearer is an adult or older teenager, you want sleep and recovery data on a budget, and you are fine managing it from their own account.

Get Halo Lytt if the wearer is 6 or older, you want the data in a parent app, and you would rather charge once a month than every ten days.

Halo Lytt on a child's wrist. The band has no screen, so there is nothing to look at.

It is CE, FCC and RoHS certified. It tracks sleep, recovery, stress, activity, heart rate, breathing and skin temperature, and sends everything to one parent app that works across separate phones.

Data sits on servers in Ireland under EU data protection law, encrypted in transit and at rest, and is never sold to advertisers. It costs AED 699 in the UAE with free delivery, 30 day returns and no subscription. See the Halo Lytt product page.

It has no GPS, no location tracking, no SIM and no calling. Its metrics are for wellbeing awareness, are not clinically validated, and it is not a medical device.
