Can a kids sleep tracker diagnose a sleep disorder?

No. Consumer wearables estimate sleep from movement and heart rate. They are not diagnostic tools, and no wrist device can diagnose a sleep disorder.

Conditions such as sleep apnoea are diagnosed clinically, often with polysomnography in a sleep lab. If your child snores heavily, gasps, or appears to stop breathing during sleep, see a doctor rather than gathering more tracker data. The Sleep Foundation and the American Academy of Pediatrics both publish guidance on children's sleep worth reading.

What a tracker is genuinely good for is spotting patterns over weeks. More in our sleep tracking guide.
