No. Halo Lytt has no GPS and no location tracking of any kind. It is a screen-free health band, not a safety tracker. It measures sleep, recovery, stress, activity, heart rate, breathing and skin temperature, and sends that to a parent app. There is no map in the app, because there is no location data to put on one.
Why the GPS is absent on purpose
Continuous GPS and a cellular radio are the two largest power draws in any wearable. Removing both is what allows Halo Lytt to run 30 or more days on a charge rather than needing a nightly one. That is the whole trade, stated plainly: you give up knowing where your child is, and in exchange you get a band that is still on the wrist at 2am, which is when sleep tracking has to happen.
Battery life is the tell across this entire category. A device quoting 18 hours and a device quoting 30 days are not two points on one quality scale. They are two different products doing different jobs.
When you should buy something else instead
If any of the following describes your week, Halo Lytt is the wrong purchase, and we would rather say so before you order:
- Your child walks or cycles to school alone.
- Your child moves between two homes during the week.
- Your child is regularly somewhere you cannot see them, such as a mall or a large compound.
- Knowing their location is the single reason you started looking at wearables.
In those cases you want a connected GPS smartwatch with a SIM and a data plan. Expect a monthly fee, because live location needs a mobile connection and mobile connections cost money every month. Roughly AED 880 over two years for knowing where your child is is not expensive. It is the cheapest part of that decision.
What Halo Lytt does instead
Halo Lytt answers a different question. Not "where is my child right now" but "is my child sleeping enough, recovering, and doing alright across the last month". Those are the households it fits: children who are supervised or at school all day, whose parents are actively trying to reduce screen exposure rather than add another display to it.
