Treat every manufacturer figure as a best case measured under light use. Real battery life with a child using the features they were sold on is reliably shorter.
What drains a kids wearable
In rough order: the cellular radio, the screen, GPS, then everything else. This is why the numbers cluster the way they do. Anything that can call, message or report location is carrying a modem, and a modem is a constant power cost even when idle. Add a display the child actually looks at and you are into daily charging.
Remove both and the arithmetic changes completely, which is how a band reaches a month.
Why this matters more than it looks
Battery life is the single best predictor of whether a kids wearable is still being worn six months later. A device needing a nightly charge competes with bedtime every evening, and eventually loses.
It matters doubly for sleep. A watch that charges overnight is on a nightstand precisely when sleep tracking would happen, so the metric parents most want is the one a short-battery device is least able to collect. If sleep is your reason for buying, battery life is not a convenience feature. It is the feature.
